Q:  How old must I be in order to apply for a Utah concealed firearm permit?
A:  21 years old or older.  (You may attend the class at age 20, but the application must not be           turned in until age 21.)

Q:  Is there a way for me to legally carry a concealed firearm in Utah if I am under 21 years of            age?
A:  Yes.  A person who is 18 years old may obtain a Maine concealed firearms permit and Utah          will honor this permit.  If you are interested in obtaining the Maine concealed firearms                   permit, you may do so after attending my Utah concealed firearm permit class or either of           the NRA courses.

Q:  Other than the $40 fee for the class, are there any additional charges for a Utah concealed           firearm permit?
A:  Yes.  The Utah Bureau of Criminal Identification charges a fee of $60 for processing.  ($65           for non-residents.)

Q:  How long will it take to receive my concealed firearm permit after I take the class?
A:  The Utah Bureau of Criminal Identification is required to issue the permit within 60 days of         your payment.  They have asked that applicants be patient and refrain from calling to check         on the status of their permits.

Q:  What must I bring with me to the concealed firearm class?
A:  The only thing you need to bring is a photo ID.  I will provide everything else.

Q:  How often do I have to renew my Utah concealed firearm permit?
A:  Every five years.  The fee for renewal is only $15.

Q:  Do I have to own a firearm before taking one of your classes?
A:  No.  I provide all firearms that are used in the classes.  However, if you would like to bring            your own firearm to the NRA Basic Pistol Course, you are welcome to.

Q:  What is the benefit of attending the NRA Basic Pistol Course?
A:  In the NRA Basic Pistol Course, you will spend much more time learning about firearm                  safety and the fundamentals of shooting than you will in a concealed firearm class.  Also, you        will receive instruction on a shooting range and actually fire a firearm during the course.
